$10 vs $0. 1 vCPU vs 2 Arm Cores. 2GB RAM vs 12GB RAM. 50GB of storage vs 100GB of storage. Well, let’s just say the numbers worked out right, and it seemed a bit of a no-brainer to put the website here.
The other 2 cores, 100GB disk space and 12GB of RAM are for a different project 😉
Honestly, with numbers like those, I wonder why more people are not taking advantage of the Oracle offer. And, although this is a “webserver”, it still works great as a remote development desktop (VNC tunnelling over SSH over Zerotier.) It can even run Doom 2 and Quake 1 over X at more than playable speeds; minus sound for the mo. IronSeed runs faster on these ARM cores than it does on my workstation, and that’s a 64GB RAM, Ryzen 7 5800X, 2TB NVMe powerhouse.
